WPIL Limited, formerly known as Worthington Pump India Ltd, was established in 1952. The company underwent a name change to WPIL Limited on September 17, 1996, following the disinvestment of their stake and the termination of the Technology License Agreement with Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Co., USA. It specializes in manufacturing and marketing a variety of Vertical and Horizontal Pumps of different sizes, essential for applications such as Lift irrigation, major irrigation schemes, and Thermal/Nuclear power plants.

The company has made significant strides in energy efficiency by commissioning an Induction furnace to replace existing Cupola furnaces in January 2012. Notable achievements include commissioning India's largest metallic CW Pumps for the Rajpura Power Plant in 2014, exporting Sea Water pumps in super duplex steel, and successfully completing projects in various power plants.
