In November 1994, the company launched its initial public offering, issuing 3.2 million equity shares worth Rs 3.2 crore and 2.586 million 16% PCDs (partially convertible debentures) valued at Rs 12.93 crore to fund the expansion of its white crystal sugar manufacturing project.
During the 2005-2006 fiscal year, the company divested its investments in subsidiary firms, Prudential Ammana Sugars Ltd and Prudential Tirumala Sugars Ltd, due to poor returns. Looking ahead, Prudential Sugar Corporation Ltd aims to expand its production capacity to 5,000 TCD and co-generate 18 MW of power by the 2008-2009 season. Additionally, it plans to construct a distillery/ethanol unit with a daily capacity of 60 KL and increase cane cultivation using micro-irrigation techniques to mitigate the effects of future droughts. Introducing paired row systems for planting cane is also part of their optimization strategy for planting geometry.
