The company's by-products include molasses, bagasse, and power. Molasses, utilized in alcohol and citric acid production, is sold to distilleries. Bagasse serves as raw material in the paper industry and as fuel for power generation. The company utilizes its bagasse for steam/power generation, generating 6 MW, with 4 MW allocated for internal use and the surplus 2 MW sold to PSEB.
In February 1994, the company launched a public issue to partially finance a 2500-tcd sugar manufacturing plant and a 6 MW power generation facility. The company focuses on cultivating quality cane in its allotted area, providing various incentives such as interest-free loans, subsidized fertilizers and pesticides, and free soil testing to farmers. The company aims for 30.00 lac quintals of sugarcane crushing for the year 2003-04.
Declared a sick industrial company, PSAIL submitted a draft Rehabilitation proposal to BIFR. In 2004, a Distillery Unit with a 40 KLPD capacity was established on the sugar mill campus. Additionally, a new grain-based Distillery Plant with a 3 KLPD capacity was commissioned in Bawal, Haryana, in 2017-18. During 2019-20, Six Trees Drinks Pvt. Ltd. & Six Trees Beverages LLP became subsidiaries of the Company.
