In May 1993, JAOL initiated a project to refine and hydrogenate castor oil, with partial funding from a Public Issue. Following the inauguration of its Refining Unit on July 8, 1993, and the launch of its hydrogenation facilities on September 29, 1993, the company obtained the status of a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EoU).
In July 1994, JAOL embarked on an expansion program to double the capacity of hydrogenated castor oil from 20 tonnes per day to 40 tonnes per day. By 1997-98, the company had completed the construction of an Effluent Treatment-cum-Recovery Plant.
The company's performance in the fiscal year 2000-2001 was outstanding, with a continued focus on enhancing the market for its value-added products. In the financial year 2002-03, JAOL increased the installed capacity of Hydroxy Stearic Acid and Castor Oil by 3096 MT and 11800 MT, respectively. This expansion raised the total capacity of H S Acid and Castor Oil to 15576 MT and 43000 MT, respectively.
In January 2005, JAOL established a separate division for importing and exporting commodities and merchandise produced by others. Additionally, through backward integration, the company established manufacturing facilities for crushing castor seeds via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ihsedu Agrochem Pvt. Ltd. Commercial production commenced in January 2004. In the same year, Ihsedu Agrochem Pvt. Ltd. increased its crushing capacity from 300 MT per day to 400 MT per day, thereby boosting production capacity in 2006.
During the year 2007, JAOL acquired a 96% stake in the Share Capital of M/s Ihsedu Speci.
