Additionally, the company operates the Jaypee Nigrie cement grinding unit in District Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh and is involved in sand mining in Andhra Pradesh. It also operates a coal mine located in Amelia, Madhya Pradesh. The company was previously known as Jaiprakash Hydro-Power Limited and changed its name to Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited in December 2009. It was incorporated in 1994.
