Initially serving as agents for ICHL's products, including boilers and mineral beneficiation equipment, ICIL established its own manufacturing plant in 1963. The plant produced capital equipment such as grinding mills, mechanical vibrators, feeders, pulverizers, and pumps for industries like mineral beneficiation, thermal power, steel, and fertilizer plants. In 1975, ICIL diversified into iron castings, later expanding into polyurethane and rubber screen decks and liners. Collaborating with various international partners such as Eberhard Bauer, Carl Schenck, Tredomen Engineering, and ABB Raymond, ICIL widened its product range to include industrial gearboxes and geared motors.
In subsequent years, ICIL continued to expand its product offerings through collaborations with companies like Mogensen, IMS Engineering, and Uniroyal Chemical. The company also ventured into new manufacturing areas, such as the production of Omni Screens and Mozer Type Dryers, in collaboration with partners from South Africa and Germany, respectively. Additionally, it launched the B2000 series of Geared Motors and Gear Boxes from Danfoss Bauer GmbH, Germany, and introduced a Business Division for the production of Dry Mix Mortar and related building materials in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
In terms of infrastructure development, ICIL invested in expanding its manufacturing facilities, including constructing a new manufacturing hall in Nagpur and upgrading machinery in Baidyabati and Aurangabad plants. The company also focused on enhancing its supply chain infrastructure to support its Heavy Engineering and Bauer Divisions' operations.
