The company provides various engineering solutions, including value-added offerings such as mechanical components with wiring solutions. Its manufacturing units are situated in Baroda and Halol (Panchmahal district), both located in Gujarat. Additionally, the company manufactures standard industrial enclosures for sectors such as telecommunication, power, and IT. With expertise in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and surface treatment, it also supplies various electro-mechanical products approved by the Research Design & Standards Organization (RDSO) to Indian Railways.
In collaboration with Schlafhorst, Germany, a subsidiary of the Switzerland-based Saurer group, the company has seen an increase in equity stake. This strategic move aligns with Saurer's global strategy to expand manufacturing plants in the burgeoning Asian markets. Mafatlal Industries holds an 11% equity stake in the company.
Facing competition from international manufacturers, particularly in the textile industry, the company's subsidiary SEL manufactures automatic winding machines. To address market challenges, the company introduced a new model, Autoconer 238, which has been well-received. Due to reduced textile consumption, the Vadodara factory closed in May 1999, with employees transferred to Halol after implementing a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS). Subsequently, the company was declared a sick company by the BIFR in 1999, with ICICI, its operating agency, proposing a revival plan.
In 2006, the company sold its Vadodara Plant for Rs. 165.2 Million as per the guidelines specified in the Revival Scheme, approved by the BIFR. In 2012, the High Court of Gujarat sanctioned the Composite Scheme of Arrangement for the Amalgamation of Integra India Group Company Limited into Integra Engineering India Limited, effective from June 11, 2012. During the same year, the company invested substantially in new machinery and technology upgrades, introducing the PADAMATEX 720AL Draw Frame Machine.
Gorba Integra Systems Private Limited (GISPL), a Joint Venture Company of Integra India Group Company Limited and Gorba AG, Switzerland, merged with the company in 2013, becoming its JV Company. Additionally, the company settled a pending dispute with its JV Partner, Gorba AG, Switzerland, out of court in 2013, with INTEGRA Holding, Switzerland acquiring the 50% shareholding of Gorba AG, and the company receiving a settlement amount of Rs 20,050.
