The company's commercial operations began in October 1984 at its Bhiwadi unit in Rajasthan, where it produces precured synthetic tread material, cushion gum, precured rubber patches, and specialized retreading equipment. In 1987, it established captive retreading plants for the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation in Bangalore and Belgaum. It also operates state transport plants in Delhi DTC, Palanpur GSRTC, Ratnagiri MSRTC, Alwaye KSRTC, and RMA Kathmandu.
Indag directly sells its products to appointed franchises across the country, with the actual retreading carried out by these franchises. The company provides support services as well. It exports to various regions including the Middle East, Africa, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Its marketing strategy focuses on enhancing product quality, diversifying product offerings based on customer needs, and providing value-added services to franchisees. The company is also prioritizing the revitalization and expansion of its franchise network for broader market coverage. Additionally, it is pursuing ISO 9000 certification.
In 2001, the company successfully commissioned a second Intermix at its Bhiwadi Plant and is committed to maximizing the potential of existing franchisees while establishing new ones in underserved areas to create a larger and more efficient network. It continuously improves technology and streamlines manufacturing processes to ensure product quality.
During 2009-10, the company expanded its manufacturing plant in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh, significantly increasing the monthly production capacity of Precured Tread Rubber and uncured rubber gum. In 2011-12, it introduced a new commercial product line called 'Maxmile' alongside its existing range. Furthermore, it established an MRO Facility at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, leased out to ELCOM Systems Pvt. Ltd. starting from September 1, 2021.
