In 1981-82, the sugar factory was divested to local management, prompting a name change to Apte Amalgamations Ltd on June 16, 1982. Subsequently, the company embarked on various projects, including a chemical unit for producing Sulphamethoxazole.
In 1981, the company acquired Swastik Textile Mills, operating as a process house until 1986-87 when it ceased operations. Following this, the company shuttered its other plants and activities deemed operationally unfeasible.
Over time, the company has been gradually selling off parcels of the Swastik Mill land for further development. Currently, the company engages in securities trading on a small scale and is assessing the economic viability of undertaking development projects on its land holdings.
