Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday took a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's expression of displeasure over JD(S) Lok Sabha candidate Prajwal Revanna's alleged sexual assault on several women.

Referring to the Prajwal case, Amit Shah said in Hubli on Wednesday that "BJP cannot live with those who commit atrocities on women."

Siddaramaiah started the social media platform Apna-Apna. One is tempted to trust you, but your conduct in the past shows that things are cheap.”

Siddaramaiah asked how can anyone forget how BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh had sexually harassed Olympian wrestlers. He said, “Who were you standing with? Of course, your MPs and you allowed women athletes to protest on the streets of Delhi for weeks,” the Chief Minister recalled.

Siddaramaiah said, “Can we forget how the rapist convicts of Bilkis Ben (case) were released on parole by the Gujarat BJP government and your party garlanded them? The Supreme Court was needed to reprimand your party's state government.

He questioned whether anyone could forget how BJP stood behind the criminals in the Unnao case, where a minor Dalit girl was raped and murdered.

“Can we forget how your party defended the perpetrators of rape in the Hathra case? Can we forget how BJP turned a blind eye when women were paraded naked in Manipur? He asked.

He said, "The women of the country know the truth and now the time has come that you introduce us to the reality."
