New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad may have won four matches on the back of explosive starts this IPL season, but their aggressive opener Travis Hie says, "We are not getting too ahead of ourselves."
Following sensational innings from in-form openers Travis Hee (89) and Abhishek Sharma (46), SRH defeated Delhi Capitals by 67 runs in their most recent match here on Saturday.
SRH have made a habit of posting big scores this season, going past 260 for the third time on Saturday.
"It's very enjoyable. It's good to be here and play well, and it's hard to smile and enjoy with the batting order we've got, and the order is doing a good job through the first seven, so it's great Enjoyable,” Heiya told JioCinema.Batting first, Hyderabad made their fourth 200+ innings in this edition by scoring 266 runs while Delhi were bowled out for 199 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This was SRH's fifth win of the season.
Head also spoke on SRH's momentum and the positive energy around the team.
"We'll take it easy for a minute. I think it was Murali's (Muttya Muralitharan) birthday a few days ago, so we've thrown a party for him tomorrow night, so that'll be fun.“I think it's a good group, we're not getting too ahead of ourselves, obviously, we're excited. We've got four wins on the bounce now, we're playing well, and when you're winning So the energy is always better.
"The environment is really good. That's what Dan (Daniel Vettori) and Pa Cummins are going to bring. If there's a defeat here or there, a few poo performances, that's OK.We're showing how good we can be.
"As long as we keep building confidence in how well we're playing, I think the bar is as high as it wants to be," Head said.
Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan praised Jake Fraser-McGurk (65 runs) and Natarajan (4/19).
Jake Fraser-McGurk raised hopes of an impossible win for DC with his explosive innings.
“Today, the line was well outside the off-stump.He has shown that he can also open up that area and put the bowlers under pressure, especially when he is able to generate power from his shots on the backfoot to get the ball over the ropes.
Zaheer said, “I mean everyone is looking at his talent and keeping an eye on him and how he will develop with experience."
