CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday strongly opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign in the state and compared his visit to a migratory bird visiting a sanctuary during the season and asked him questions on a number of issues.
He said, the Prime Minister has come to the state with a set of guarantees for the 2022 general elections as his Gujarat model and chowkidar role has been exposed.
“Prime Minister Modi himself hovers over Tamil Nadu during the election season, like migratory birds flock to the sanctuary during the season. ...Will you give this guarantee?” Stalin, who is president of the ruling DMK, asked in a post on social media platform X.
He wanted to know from Modi whether he can guarantee to conduct caste-wise census, remove reservation cap, strictly implement reservation for SC, ST and OBC, give Tamil Nadu National Eligibility-cum-Entry Can give exemption from examination (NEET), will never apply reservation.Transferring Hindi and Sanskrit, and education, to the State List.
Apart from this, the CM wanted to know whether the Prime Minister will waive off education loans of students, ensure jobs for two crore youth per year, give a grant of Rs 400 under the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, fix the minimum support price for agricultural produce.
“Will he guarantee reduction in rising prices of petrol, diesel and LP cylinders, end tax plunder under cess and surcharge? Will he say that he will ensure that the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department and CBI function independently?” Stalin asked.
Ensuring fair transfer of central funds without any discrimination, restructuring the GST which has hit traders and small businesses, strictly decriminalizing violence, ordering a probe into the Vyapam scam and electoral bonds, China-occupied territories Reclaiming, Stop attacks on Tamil Nadu fishermen, Withdraw Agneepath scheme, Allocate NDRF funds to Tamil Nadu, Withdraw Citizenship Amendment Act.
“Also, would you say that you will not treat minorities as second class citizens.Are you ready to give guarantees on all this?" Stalin asked.
The CM said, “Otherwise your guarantee will be exposed as a ‘Made in BJP’ washing machine that saffronizes the tainted."
