She is contesting from Kairana seat in Shamli district on Samajwadi Party ticket and is campaigning for almost 16 hours a day to save her family's political legacy.
His grandfather Akhtar Hasan was the MP in 1984, his father Munawwar Hasan was the MP from Kairana in 1996 and then his mother Tabassum Hasan held the seat twice in 2009 and 2018 (by-election).

Campaigned in 2014, contested Zilla Panchayat elections in 2015 and then campaigned for his brother in 2017 (Assembly elections), 2018 (by-election), 2019 (Lok Sabha) and 2022. “This is my seventh election but this is the first time that I am leading an election campaign,” says Hasan.
A graduate in History from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, Iqra Hasan earned a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and a master's degree in International Law and Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London. Is a part of the university. She returned to India in January 2021.
According to SP sources, Akhilesh Yadav chose Iqra Hasan to contest the Lok Sabha elections because he wanted to reach out to the new generation of educated Muslim youth through her.For the last four decades, Kairana has been represented by two families – Munawwar Hasan and Hukum Singh.
Veteran BJP leader late Hukum Singh won the seat from 199 for four consecutive terms and later represented the seat in the Lok Sabha in 2014.
Since then, Nahid Hasan successfully contested the Kairana Assembly seat twice, defeating BJP's Anil Kumar in the 2014 by-election and Hukum Singh's daughter Mriganka Singh in 2017.
Kairana came into limelight in 2017 when late Hukum Singh claimed that a large number of Hindus were migrating from Kairana. There was a lot of controversy over this incident but later the BJP leader withdrew his allegation.
“Migration was never an issue in elections here, although people outside Kairana still talk about it,” says Iqra Hasan.,
She is campaigning door-to-door and holding small street meetings in at least five to six villages every day. Iqra Hasan is reaching out to those people with the message that the Hasan family is with them without any discrimination and will continue to serve them.
The SP candidate is being challenged by sitting BJP MP Pradeep Chaudhary. Pradeep, who hails from the Gurjar caste, had won the election in 2019 by defeating his mother and two-time MP SP candidate Tabassum Hasan.
This time his biggest advantage is that Rashtriya Lok Dal is now in alliance with BJP which gives him additional Jat support.RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary held a meeting in support of BJP on Tuesday, in which a huge crowd gathered.
BSP candidate Shripal Rana is a former soldier.
