The Defense Minister said that the CAA will be implemented across the country at any cost, while the Chief Minister said that she will never allow it to be implemented.
“CAA is to give citizenship to those who have left countries like Pakistan Bangladesh and Afghanistan for religious reasons. At an election rally in Jalangi, Murshidabad, Rajnath Singh said that although Mamata Banerjee and her party may oppose it, the CAA will be implemented in the country at any cost.
The Defense Minister said it is unfortunate that inter-religious tension is being promoted by the ruling party in West Bengal, the land of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
The Defense Minister said, "There is anarchy in West Bengal."
The chief minister, who was addressing an election rally in neighboring Balurghat region of North Bengal, said she would not allow the CAA to be implemented in the country.
“They (BJP) are questioning my right to challenge CAA and NRC. Who are they to question me? When I said that we will not allow CA and NRC to be implemented, this is what I meant. He tried to implement NRC in Assam. “Trinamool Congress was the only political party to oppose it,” the Chief Minister said.
He also accused the BJP of focusing only on selling the country's assets during the last 10 years.
“You have sold the country's assets. You have changed the history of the country. Have you done any good work? You also stopped the flow of central funds for the 100-day job scheme under MNREGA,” the Chief Minister said.
