Amritsar: A man allegedly tied his 23-year-old pregnant wife to the bed and set her on fire at Bulle Nangal village in Baba Bakala area here. Sunda Police gave this information.
It is said that Sukhdev Singh burnt his wife to death after a fight on Friday.
He said Sukhdev tied his wife Pinky, who was six months pregnant and expecting twins, to the bed and set her on fire.
By the time the police reached home after being informed about the incident by the village sarpanch, the woman had died of burns.
Police said Sukhdev, who fled after the incident, has been arrested and booked for murder.
Sukhdev and Pinky got married about two and a half years ago.
