Tom Craig, 28, was detained by French police after what was seen as a drug deal in a trendy neighborhood of Paris known for theaters and shopping. The incident took place in the city's 9th Arrondissement, an area bustling with nightlife and cultural activities.

"A member of the Australian hockey team remains in custody after being arrested in Paris on August 6," the AOC said in a release. “No charges have been filed. The AOC is continuing inquiries and arranging assistance for the team member.

Tom Greig is the forward of the Australia team and he scored a goal through a penalty corner in the Paris Olympics.
