New Delhi: A copy of the jail manual was provided to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, lodged in Tihar jail in a money laundering case, sources said on Wednesday.

Confirming this, a Tihar Jail official said that a prisoner can read any book available in the jail library.

Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar Jail No. 2 since April 1 after the court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

After being sent to jail, Kejriwal had asked for three books from the jail authorities - Ramayana, Mahabharata, and "How Prime Ministers Decide".

On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court rejected the Chief Minister's plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the now defunct Delhi Excise Policy, saying it was in violation of legal provisions .According to sources, Kejriwal and other AAP leaders lodged in Tihar jail have also been provided mosquito nets in their cells.

An official said that as per the provisions, prisoners can be provided with mosquito nets in their cells.

AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain are lodged in Tihar Jail No. 7 respectively. While Sisodia was arrested in the excise policy case, Jain was arrested by the ED in another money laundering case.

Kejriwal is often seen sitting on a chair in the high cell, reading and writing books.Sources said that he also reads jail manual in his cell.

Since two CCTV cameras are installed in Kejriwal's cell, jail officials can keep an eye on him round the clock.
