New Delhi: Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala moved towards their second consecutive win by topping their respective qualification rounds in the ongoing Olympic Selection Trials 1 and 2 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range here on Sunday.
Manu shot a total score of 585 in the women's 25m pistol in T2 qualification, taking the five-woman field to the final in pole position. The Olympian had won the T1 trial on Saturday.
Isha Singh stood second with 581, while Simranpreet Kaur Brar stood third with 577.
Abhigyan Ashok Patil followed with 572 and Rhythm Sangwan, the other Paris Olympics quota holder in the field along with Manu, came close behind with 566.
In the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol T2, favorite Bhanwala continued his dominance and topped the qualification round with a score of 582.
His fellow Paris quota holder Vijayveer Sidhu was second with 580, while Bhaves Shekhawat was third on the same score as Vijayveer but with a lower internal 10.
Ankur Goyal (573) and Adarsh Singh (571) look out of contention, barring a miracle, in the final two Tests in Bhopal.
As things stand, Manu and Isha in women's pistol and Anish and Vijayveer in men's RFP are likely to fly to Paris from these events.
