A Congressional delegation comprising senior leaders, legislators and parliamentarians raised these and other issues in a memorandum submitted to Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan Raj Bhavan, detailing how "law and order in the state has completely collapsed", giving rise to political and social instability.

Among them were Maharashtra unit Congress president Nana Patole, working president M. Arif Naseem Khan, Congress Legislative Party leader Balasaheb Thorat, opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar, chief Mumbai city unit Varsha Gaikwad, former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, Nitin Raut, Chandrakant Handore, Aslam. Shaikh, Sachin Sawant, Vishal Patil, Amin Patel, Vishwajit Kadam, Vikram Sawant and others.

The leaders referred to open and violent threats to cut or burn Rahul Gandhi's tongue, but MahaYuti did nothing.

"After our pressure, complaints were lodged against them, but they are yet to be arrested for threatening Rahul Gandhi, whose life could be in danger due to it. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis as well as the police, have assumed the role of spectators," the Congress leaders presented to the Governor.

The Congress referred to the bias of the police, who do not act against elected representatives of the ruling party even when they make provocative statements, raising questions over whether there is a conspiracy to foment unrest in the state.

The delegation cited the increasing atrocities against women and the rape of two kindergarten girls in Badlapur, and the breakdown in law and order machinery had raised questions over whether the upcoming state Assembly elections would be held in an atmosphere fearless.

"We point out other important problems like leakage of competitive exams, crisis in agricultural lands with the government adopting a hostile attitude towards farmers without help coming from the Centre, rising unemployment, collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statute etc," he said. Pathole.

After patiently listening to the Congress delegation, the Governor said that he will look into the matter and also promised to initiate strict action after collecting information from the Home Department regarding threats to Rahul Gandhi.
