Ambala, Haryana Minister Asim Goyal was issued a notice for alleged violation of the model code of conduct, a day after he hosted a dinner for Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The Assistant Returning Officer issued a notice to Ambala City MLA Goyal on Friday.
In the notice, the ARO-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate asked Goyal why permission was not taken to erect the huge tent on Old Model Town Road.
While Saini had gone to Goyal's residence for dinner after holding a rally on Thursday, one side of the road was closed to the public due to huge tents.
Goyal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Transport, Women and Child Development, has been given 72 hours to respond to the notice.
