Latur: After withdrawal of nomination papers by three candidates, now 28 candidates are left in the fray for the Lok Sabha elections from Latur seat in Maharashtra. An official gave this information on Tuesday.

He told that Monday was the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers.

Latur Collector and Returning Officer Varsha Thakur-Ghuge said that thirty-six candidates had submitted their nomination forms, of which five candidates' papers were rejected after scrutiny and three withdrew their candidature.

Along with this, 28 candidates are in the fray for the elections to be held on May 7.

Among major political parties, the BJP has fielded sitting MP Sudhaka Shringare, the Congress has fielded Shivaji Kalge, and the Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has fielded Narsingrao Nivrit Udgirkar.
