Bhopal: Union minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said like Mahendra Singh Dhoni in cricket, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is the "best finisher" of Indian politics as his party's presence is declining everywhere.

Speaking at an election campaign rally in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, the senior BJP leader also alleged that the Congress has an "unbreakable" relationship with corruption.

He said, "There was a time when Congress dominated Indian politics, but now it has governments only in two or three small states."

"I sometimes wonder why this is happening, and I come to this conclusion. Who is the best finisher in cricket? (After people answered) Dhoni. If someone asks me that in Indian politics As to who is the best finisher, I would say it is Rahul Gandhi, that is why many leaders have left the Congress,” the senior BJP leader said.

Earlier at a rally, Singh had taken a dig at Rahul Gandhi, saying he had vowed not to stop until he 'finishes off' the grand old party.Singh said that Congress and corruption are linked to each other. He said that Congress governments in the state were accused of corruption, but no such allegation was made against any minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government.

The minister said Congress's relationship with corruption can be described by the song 'Tu Cha Main Aayi' (I will follow you) from Salman Khan starrer 'Maine Pyar Kiya'.

Singh also advocated 'one nation, one election' and claimed that this would save time and resources.

Contrary to what the Congress is saying, simultaneous elections will strengthen Indian democracy, he said elections should be held twice in five years - once for local bodies, followed by assemblies and second for the Lok Sabha.

The Defense Minister said that some big financial companies are predicting that India will be one of the top three economies of the world by the beginning of 2027 and the Modi government has already brought the country to the top five from 11th position ten years ago.Singh said, India will become a superpower by 2045.
