India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, participated in the prayer ceremony held at St. Anthony's Shrine, one of the suicide attack sites in 2019. More than 250 people, including Indians, were killed in bomb blasts by Islamic terrorists.
"In memory of the victims of the tragic Easter Sunday bombings, High Commissioner Jha participated in the prayer ceremony at St. Anthony's Shrine. India stands in solidarity with the victims of the attack and the people of Sri Lanka. We condemn all forms of terrorism and Expressions anywhere, everywhere,” the Indian High Commission in Colombo posted on Twitter.
It should be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Colombo on a short visit in June 2019 to express solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka after the Easter Sunday attacks.
During his visit, PM Modi paid tribute to the victims of the East attacks at St. Anthony's Church, Kochchikade and held discussions with top leaders of the country in the national capital.
