Quetta [Balochistan], Shocking figures have emerged in the latest report of PUNK, the human rights department of Baloch National Movement (BNM). According to the report, in March 2024, 24 persons were forcibly disappeared, two were extrajudicially executed and 21 tortured victims were released in Balochistan, the most underdeveloped region of Pakistan, by Pakistani forces in the country. The intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence, accused them of committing all kinds of atrocities including kidnapping, murder and torture to create fear. Strong feelings of injustice and alienation have forced some Baloch people to take up arms and they are continuously targeting Pakistani army personnel and Chinese properties in their area. The Department of Human Rights said, "Those who advocate for the betterment of their society are consistently targeted by the Pakistani military. The Pakistani military views enforced disappearances as the only means of suppressing Baloch national consciousness. This strategy has been used for the last 20 years." And students and the educated class are the primary targets. Baloch students are being arrested and forcibly disappeared from educational institutions and streets. They are being held for days, months. And are kept locked in torture chambers for years. Even if many of them are freed, they become mentally crippled because the Pakistani army and secret agencies guard their minds .On the streets of different parts of Balochistan, Pank claimed that his team also spoke to families of victims in one case and learned that bodies of their loved ones were found despite police assurances that their children would be recovered safely. , only social media incidents highlight a small portion of enforced disappearances and unlawful detention, so more in-depth investigations and scientific observations are needed to fully understand the suffering of Baloch youth.
