Gudapur in Nalgonda district was the hottest place, where the mercury reached 46 degrees Celsius.
According to Telangana State Development Planning Society, Mangapet i Mulugu district, Munagala in Suryapet, Chandur in Nalgonda and Bhadrachalam i Bhadradri Kothagudem district recorded a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees.
Timmapur in Nalgonda, Vaira and Khanapur in Khammam and Mutharam in Peddapalli recorded a temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Meteorological Center has predicted that heat wave conditions are likely to continue for the next four days.
It has also issued a red alert for Jagtial, Jangaon, Karimnagar, Khammam Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla districts on May 3 as the temperature is likely to cross 44 degrees Celsius, and for districts like Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jaishankar. Orange alert has been issued.The temperature is likely to range between 4 to 44 degrees Celsius in Bhupalpally, Mahabubnagar Nagar, Kurnool and Wanaparthy.
Yellow alert has been issued for districts like Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal Rajanna Sircilla, Mulugu, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal Hanamkonda, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
Meanwhile, the state health department has issued an advisory to prevent heat wave. It has advised people to take precautions, not to ignore the heat and not to come out of their homes.
They have been advised to stay in shady cool areas as much as possible for the next few days. The Director of Health and Family Welfare has urged people to be cautious and not to risk their health and life by going out in the sun especially between noon and 3 pm.afternoon
Director of Public Health and Family Welfare Dr. B. Ravinder Nayak said that people should avoid strenuous activities when they go out in the afternoon.
Do not go outside barefoot, avoid cooking during peak hours of heat, open doors and windows to adequately ventilate the cooking area, and avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and carbonated soft drinks or those containing large amounts of sugar. Avoid drinks - as these really cause harm. Excess fluid in the body or stomach cramps may occur, the advisory said.
