Chandigarh Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday attacked the BJP government in Haryana over the issue of unemployment, alleging that its rate in the state was five times higher than the country's average.
Mann toured AAP candidate Satish Yadav's Rewari assembly constituency.
Addressing a gathering, he asked people to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party in the October 5 Haryana assembly elections.
The youth of Haryana are upset over unemployment in the state, he said.
"According to a central agency report, the unemployment rate in Haryana is five times higher than the rate of the entire country," he said.
He targeted the BJP-led Center over the Agnipath scheme issue.
"Whoever is recruited as Agniveer at the age of 18 will retire at the age of 21," he said while asking the government to restore the previous military recruitment scheme.
Mann said his government created 45,000 government jobs in Punjab in two and a half years.
Talking about the works undertaken by his government in Punjab, Mann said that the public schools in the neighboring state are now even better than the private ones.
"As many as 840 mohalla clinics have been opened in the state and two million people have been treated there so far," he said.
He said the AAP governments in Punjab and Delhi have made electricity free for the people.
"If the Aam Aadmi Party comes to power in Haryana, we will show how electricity can be free. In Delhi and Punjab, 90 per cent of households do not receive electricity bills," Mann said.
Mann said he didn't come seeking votes for himself. "I have come to ask for votes for your children," he said while seeking to get people to give AAP a chance.
He later also toured Meham constituency in Rohtak for party candidate Vikas Nehra.
Voting for all 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be held on October 5 and votes will be counted on October 8.
