About 33 senior leaders including three Rajasthan MLAs and nine former MLAs have been called to Amethi. These include State Congress Committee (PCC) chief Govind Singh Dotasara.

Sources said that former Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dharmendra Rathod has been made the election coordinator in Amethi and he is deciding who to call on which day and how many trips to be made.

Senior leader KL Sharma, close to the Gandhi family, has been fielded from Amethi against BJP's Smriti Irani.

Gehlot was appointed observer soon after Sharma's candidature was announced. H reached Amethi on May 10 and thereafter started appointing experienced leaders in various roles here.

Those called here include PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara, Rafiq Khan, former ML Surendra Singh Jadawat, Danish Abrar, Chetan Doody, Babulal Nagar, Bhajanla Jatav, Sandeep Chaudhary, Sandeep Yadav and Jogendra Awana and others.

Rajasthan PCC general secretary and spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi said that PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasara is campaigning in Amethi on May 17 and 18, I support Congress.
