Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed 15 expenditure observers for various Lok Sabha constituencies of Punjab. Expenditure observers are entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the expenditure incurred by candidates and political parties during the campaign period. Disclosing the details of the appointed expenditure observers while ensuring compliance with election expenditure rules, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C said that the appointed observers will be Eminent Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers who bring rich experience and expertise to their roles. He said that Harshad S Vengurleka has been appointed to Gurdaspur, Bade Ganesh Sudhakar to Amritsar, Anura Tripathi to Khadur Sahib, Madhav Deshmukh to Jalandhar (SC) and Pawan Kuma Khaitan to Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency. Similarly, Shilpi Sinha has been appointed for Anandpur.Pankaj Kumar and Chetan D Kalamkar for Sahib, Ludhiana, and Akhilesh Kumar Yadav and Nandini R Nair for Bathinda constituency. Additionally, Anand Kumar for Fatehgarh Sahib, Manis Kumar for Faridkot, Nagendra Yadav for Ferozepur, Amit Sanjay Gaurav for Sangru and Mitu Agarwal for Patiala have been appointed expenditure observers. CEO Sibin See said each appointed observer will play an important role. Ensuring fairness and transparency of the electoral process in their respective constituencies, the statement said that in Punjab, voting for its 13 seats will be held in a single phase, with the seventh and final phase on June 1 in Gurudaspur, Amritsar, Khadu There will be voting. Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur and Patiala constituencies. Lok Sabha elections began on April 19 for 102 seats in the 2 states this year.After this, phase 2 will be held on 26 April and the third phase will be held on 7 May, which will include 94 seats from 12 states. The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held on 13 May, which will include 9 seats and phase 5 will be held on 12 May. Voting for 49 seats is scheduled for May 20, while the phase is scheduled for May 25 for 57 seats in 7 states.
