New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday asked why Narendra Modi has broken his promise to legalize the minimum support price for crops and why he has given priority to his politics over the daughters of the country, as the Prime Minister campaigned in Haryana. are doing.

Referring to the protest by Haryana's women wrestlers, Congress leader Jaira Ramesh alleged that the Prime Minister did not take action against her party's MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, whom the women wrestlers have accused of "molestation".

"Today's questions for the outgoing Prime Minister in Haryana: Why has the Prime Minister broken his promise of legal MSP for farmers? Will Prime Minister Modi always give priority to his politics over the daughters of India and Haryana? Dalits in BJP ruled states But why are atrocities increasing in states like Haryana? he asked in a post on X.

Referring to farmers' demand for a legal guarantee on minimum support price (MSP) for crops, Ramesh alleged that Haryana farmers have completely lost faith in the "double-fisted Modi government".

Ramesh said that when the farmers' protests were called off in 2021, they left after being assured by the Prime Minister and his government that their demands would be met.“However, with time, the Modi government's talks with farmer organizations slowed down and the BJP appointed a partisan committee to deliberate on the MS question, of which an independent member immediately resigned. In shock of this betrayal After this, farmer organizations were forced to make their voices heard once again on the streets,'' he said.

“Instead of listening to them, the Modi government lathi-charged them and released tear gas on them. Last year, farmers of Haryana had to struggle due to unseasonal rains and storms, causing massive crop damage. Why has the Modi government continued to ignore their plight?" he asked.

The Congress leader claimed that the party's manifesto promises legal guarantee for MSP as well as farm loan waiver and payment of crop insurance within 30 days as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.

"What is the BJP's vision to ensure that Haryana's farmers can lead a stable, decent life?" Ramesh asked.

He also alleged that Modi has once again failed the daughters of India.

He alleged that instead of punishing party MP Singh for "his heinous crimes" against India's women wrestlers, the BJP rewarded him by giving the ticket to his son Karan Bhusha Singh from the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat.

The Congress general secretary said, “This is a slap on the face of all those daughters of India who put their careers at stake and slept on the streets for days in the sun and rain in the fight for justice.,

"It has become clear that in 'Modi ka Parivar', women power is just a slogan that has been introduced while the Parivar (family) gives shelter to the perpetrators of sexual violence, be it Prajwal Revanna or Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Will women ever be safe in Modi's India? Will the Prime Minister's hunger for power always be more important than the safety of the daughters of India and Haryana?" He asked.

Ramesh also alleged that under BJP rule, Haryana has become notorious for violence and discrimination against the Scheduled Caste community.

He claimed that from restrictions on the use of village hand pumps to open violence and sexual harassment, Dalits faced constant threats to their dignity and safety in the state.

“When victims of these crimes approach the courts for justice, they are socially ostracized by the dominant castes. Why is it that Scheduled Castes in BJP ruled states do not fear for their safety? Does Prime Minister Modi feel no shame for the countless atrocities that Dalits have endured under his watch?" He urged Modi to break his silence on these issues.

Modi will address election rallies in Ambala and Sonipat in Haryana on Saturday as part of his election campaign.
