New Delhi [India], With barely five days left for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to begin, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released its election manifesto with the tagline "Modi's Guarantee", with a focus on greater development. The year 2025 will be declared the 'Tribal Gaura Year', according to the BJP, a roadmap for women's welfare and a "developed India". The BJP's election manifesto promises 'one nation, one election' and a "single voter list". The release issued by BJP also focuses on bringing forward more Lakhpat Didis. It promises to bring down electricity bills to zero with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Additionally, the BJP's manifesto includes India's Olympic bid in 2036, implementation of the National Education Policy and a law against paper leaks among other promises.The manifesto also aims to make the country the third largest economy in the world. The manifesto aims to make India a "global manufacturing hub". The manifesto was unveiled in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and party president JP Nadda Addressing the event, JP Nadda said that the government's achievements in the last 10 years, such as the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and the women's reservation law, were possible due to this. Speaking at an event to release the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Nadda said, "The achievements of the last 10 years are the result of a clear mandate."A manifesto committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnat Singh, which reviewed its content after the party initiated several exercises, including a massive campaign across the country, to seek people's suggestions before releasing the 'Sankalp Patra'. The BJP received over 1.5 million votes for its manifesto, including over 400,000 through the NaMo app. The Lok Sabha elections will be held from April 19, 2024 to June 1, 2024, to elect 543 representatives from a total population of about 1.44 billion. 970 million people are eligible to participate in the elections.Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held along with the general elections. Apart from this, by-elections will be held on 35 seats in 16 states.
