Shimla, April 21 ( ) Himachal Pradesh BJP on Sunday filed a complaint against Congress and Hamirpur Youth Congress Club for allegedly portraying actress and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi Kangana Ranaut negatively by using pictures from her films. of.

The BJP urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to initiate appropriate legal action against him for using objectionable, condemnable and derogatory language on social media.

In its complaint to the ECI, with a copy to the Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal, the BJP alleged that the Congress has instructed its various wings to assassinate Kangana's character on social media. Hamirpur Youth Congress Club used a photo of Kangana's "artistic activities" to portray her as a negative character and posted "derogatory double meaning comments".

The complaint filed by BJP's state media in-charge Karan Nanda cited repeated instances of alleged "serious violations" of the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860; Representation of the People Act (RPA), 1951; and Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by Congress leaders.It said these cases also fall under the ambit of offenses under relevant sections of the IPC and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the comments fall under the definition of "corrupt practices".

"It is the duty of every artist to portray the character given to him as convincingly as possible and every character has its own challenges and requirements, but ignoring this aspect, Congress has repeatedly used Kangana's artistic activities to brand her as obscene. "The comments were made with the intention of humiliating her as they are not only derogatory and sexually oriented, which undermines the dignity of a woman, but also her ideals of conduct," the complaint said. It also violates the mandatory guidelines of the Code.

Nanda said, "The page of Hamirpur Youth Congress Club on which Kangana's picture has been posted with the comment has 10,000 followers."

The BJP also urged the Election Commission to take into account the "irresponsible" behavior of the Congress, which is following a "dangerous" pattern.It also stated that the Congress leader is a "habitual offender" and has a history of violating provisions of law.

The party further said that this is not the first time that a Congress leader has made such objectionable and derogatory remarks against Kangana.

Earlier, soon after BJP announced Kangana as its candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet had commented, "What are the feelings of the girls going on in Mandi". The complaint states that BJP reacted sharply to this and filed a complaint against the Congress leader in the ECI.
