Murshidabad (West Bengal) [India], Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government over the law and order situation in West Bengal and said that an atmosphere of anarchy is prevalent in the entire state. Addressing a public rally in Murshidabad, West Bengal, Rajnath Singh said, "There is an atmosphere of anarchy in the entire West Bengal and it is known for crime. Incidents like Sandeshkhali happen on the land of West Bengal. I believe you Let me assure you that this time if BJP is formed, we will see who dares to repeat the incident like Sandeshkhali. There is no law and order in the state, TMC is not a political party. Yes...goons and police are with them, not people.'' Sharing similar sentiments, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Medinipur, Agnimitra Paul, also accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of misuse. Police and administration for their political gains Paul also said that Mamata Banerjee's strategy will not work and BJP will perform well in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. "This time I will not work. BJP will give very good results. We have seen and continue to see what they have shown towards women after Sandeshkhali... the youth of our society have been harassed, jobs have been taken away and the people of Bengal will respond to this,'' he said, adding that Trinamool Congress (TMC) In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, TMC traditionally holds a strong hold in West Bengal, capturing 34 seats in the state, in contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win only 2 seats. M) and Congress won 2 and 4 seats respectively, however, the 2019 elections saw a significant change in the political landscape.BJP won 18 seats, although TMC is still in the lead, their number of seats reduced to 22. Congress representation was reduced to only 2 seats, while the Left Front was unable to gain any seats. Recently, the first phase of voting was concluded in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri parliamentary constituencies. In the last elections 2019, BJP had won all these constituencies. High turnout was recorded in all three constituencies, with 75.54 per cent in Alipurduar, 77.73 per cent in Cooch Behar and 79.33 per cent in Jalpaiguri.Voting took place for the remaining constituencies in the West. Voting will be held in Bengal on 26 April, 4 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
