Rajouri/Jammu: Security forces on Sunday busted a terrorist hideout in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, recovering eight improvised explosive devices or IEDs, two wireless sets and some ammunition.
Officials said the material recovered was in a highly rusted condition, indicating that the hideout was in use when militants were active in the district before it was liberated from militancy two decades ago.
He said police, assisted by the Army, conducted a search operation in Ajmataba village in Thannamandi area, 30 km from Rajouri city, and located the hideout.
Officials said one IED weighed 1 kilogram, while the remaining seven weighed half a kilogram each.
Three magazines of AK-47 rifle, 102 rounds of ammunition, one charger and two wireless sets were other items seized.
