Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh), Thirty-four people were injured when a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus met with an accident here. Officials gave this information on Sunday.

He said that the accident occurred on Saturday night at Tiyale Da Ghat near Bhota Kaswa, about 16 km from Hamirpur.

According to eyewitnesses, while overtaking at a sharp turn near Tiyale Da Ghat, a car suddenly came in front of the bus. To save the car, the driver turned the bus to the left and collided with the hill, causing this accident.

The Hamirpur-Vrindaban bound bus was carrying about five passengers, out of which nine, including the driver, were seriously injured and are being treated at the Hamirpur Medical College, officials said.

He told that the driver had to be taken out of the bus by cutting the steering wheel of the bus.

According to officials, 25 other injured passengers were sent to Bhote Hospital in Hamirpur district for treatment.

A police team led by ASI Rajesh Kumar reached the spot and conducted relief and rescue operations. The local business community also helped them.

Police said a case has been registered in the incident and investigation is ongoing.
