Notes

  • Celebrating culture, spirituality, and community.
Prabodhini Ekadashi, also known as Dev Uthani Ekadashi, falls on the 11th lunar day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Kartik. A festival called Kartik Mela is celebrated at Omkareshwar from this day until Purnima (full moon of the same month). The Panchkroshi Yatra commences during this time as well. The Panchkroshi Yatra begins on the Ekadashi of Kartik month and concludes with the Darshan of Omkareshwar Jyotirlingam and the parikrama of Omkar Parvat on Kartik Purnima. This Yatra attracts over 100,000 pilgrims. The Panchkrosh Yatra holds great religious significance, as 'Panchkroshanam Samahara' refers to the group of five Koschakroshi Yatra. By participating in this Yatra, one can attain success in all four endeavors - religion, art, work, and salvation.
